The ceiling sits under what these channels cost to win a customer. The floors are assumptions, not published benchmarks, and each row says which one.

These pass the arithmetic. Whether your site emits what each one needs, and whether the people you have can run it, is still unknown. Only the full report can answer those.

The arithmetic here depends on how many customers you need, which depends on a revenue target. Without one it is unknown, not closed. Add a target above and it is decided.

  1. ARITH ?STRUCT ?CAP ?
depends on customers needed, which needs a revenue targetWe could not check this. It is neither open nor closed.

Run the full report with a target and this is decided there too.

The arithmetic

The most you can spend to win a customer is your monthly price times the months you are willing to wait for it to pay back. That is the acquisition ceiling. Each paid channel has an assumed floor, the least it realistically costs to win one customer there, and where the ceiling sits under the floor the channel is closed before anyone looks at your site. Human selling works the same way on the annual contract: below 1,200 a year, an hour of a salesperson's time costs more than it wins.

At £99 a month with a 6-month payback the ceiling is £594, which clears search ads, social ads, affiliates and events. It closes 3: offline advertising, trade shows, and sales, because £99 a month is £1,188 a year against a £1,200 floor. Twelve pounds short. The row says exactly that: £1,188 annual value vs £1,200 assumed floor for human selling.

The floors are assumptions, not published benchmarks. They are listed on the about page, and every closed row names the one it was measured against, so you know which number to disagree with. The full report runs this same gate at a 6-month payback, then reads your site for the other two.

This is one of the three gates, run on its own. DistroFit runs all three: it reads your site to decide structure, asks who runs it to decide capacity, and gives you the full list of what is open. Customers needed turns a target into the count behind these numbers.
